How to Hide your internet activity

If you think your computer use at home might be monitored, try not to use it for getting help. Instead, use the computer at the library, an internet café, or at the house of a friend you trust.

You can clear your internet history to hide the websites you’ve been viewing. But remember – if you don’t clear your history regularly, it might make your partner suspicious. If it’s safe, follow these easy steps:

If you’re using Internet Explorer 8

1. Select TOOLS from the bar of buttons at the top of your screen

2. Choose INTERNET OPTIONS

3. In the ‘Browsing History’ section, select ‘Delete browsing history on exit’

4. Exit the browser.

If you’re using Firefox

1. Select TOOLS from the bar of buttons at the top of your screen

2. Then choose OPTIONS

3. Select PRIVACY

4. Select ‘Never Remember History’ from the drop down menu

5. Select OK

6. Exit the browser.

Once that’s done, try not to stop using your home computer completely – instead, use it for general things like checking the news, TV or weather.
