Edinburgh Women’s Aid (EWA) is proud to be Edinburgh’s leading charity in the fight against domestic abuse. Our work is only possible through the generous donations of the public, businesses, and trusts.
As we face a 38% year-on-year increase in demand from January to March 2024, it’s more crucial than ever to expand our resources to meet the needs of the women and children in Edinburgh who are seeking refuge from the trauma of domestic abuse.
Direct donations can be made:
Through Just Giving, a simple way to donate with, or without, Gift Aid.
By setting up a monthly standing order through your bank.
By donating through payroll, for individuals or businesses.
We also kindly accept donations of the following items to our office:
- Physical cash donations;
- Gift vouchers e.g. supermarket, children’s activities etc.;
- Sealed toiletry items e.g. soap, toothpaste, haircare, skincare, makeup, wipes etc. (Please note that, unfortunately, due to limited storage space we are generally unable to accept donations of any other physical goods from individuals.)
Every donation helps to make a difference to the women and children who access our support. Contact us on 0131 315 8111 or info@edinwomensaid.co.uk with any queries, or for assistance in making your donation.
Fundraising Events
Fundraising events can come in many different shapes and sizes, from office bake sales to abseiling down the side of a building! All money raised by you helps to ensure that Edinburgh Women’s Aid can continue to provide services to the women and children that we support. To help support your fundraising activities we can promote your events and activities on our social media pages. We can also provide fundraising collection buckets and informational Materials.
To discuss your plans, contact us on 0131 315 8111 or at info@edinwomensaid.co.uk.
Legacy Support
If you are considering drafting a Will, or amending an existing one, including a donation to Edinburgh Women’s Aid can be a meaningful way to help us to continue our work in the fight against domestic abuse, for as long as our services are necessary.
Gifts in wills can take many forms. They can be a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate, or the proceeds from something you own. Charitable legacies are also exempt from Inheritance Tax, so by supporting Edinburgh Women’s Aid, you could also substantially reduce the amount of tax payable on your estate.
You may also want to celebrate the life of a loved one in a special way by making a donation in their memory, or even through a memorial collection.
If you would like guidance on how to leave a Legacy in your Will, or make an In Memory donation to Edinburgh Women’s Aid, please contact us on 0131 315 8111 or at info@edinwomensaid.co.uk.
